Mole Day 2007

PUBLISHED ON October 23, 2007

Each October 23rd, Chemistry classes around the globe celebrate Mole Day in honor of the fundamental concept of measuring matter. The date is chosen based on the value of 1 mole: 6.02 x 10^23, or six hundred two septillion. Vanguard is no stranger to this celebration and we do it up big here. Beginning with the crowning of the Mole King and Mole Queen at break, announcing the winning Mole Jokes, continuing with competitions between the Chemistry classes at break and at lunch, and ending with calculation games and aluminum art projects in class, the different Chemistry classes compete for points to find the winning class for the year. This year AP Chemistry took the honors.
