WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VANGUARD?

I like the personal and flexible relationship between students and teachers at Vanguard. The teachers are very engaging and attentive to each student’s needs. I feel like I have a close relationship with many of my teachers, and I feel comfortable going to them for anything.

DO YOU BELIEVE VANGUARD IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS IN WACO?

I believe Vanguard is different than other Waco schools in many aspects including our outdoor campus, small teacher to student ratio, and close-knit community.

VANGUARD’S MOTTO IS “RIGOR, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY.” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?

Vanguard’s motto means a lot to me in many ways. It encourages and reminds me to try my best at all times. Vanguard’s motto also holds me accountable for my actions and reminds me what Vanguard really is.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VANGUARD?

I like that we get to know other people than just our grade and be able to roam around and even talk to the seniors or juniors.

DO YOU BELIEVE VANGUARD IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS IN WACO?

I think it is much more different from my other schools because of all the freedom we get even though were the youngest people there and the lowest grade.

VANGUARD’S MOTTO IS “RIGOR, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY.” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?

It means to me to be very respectful and to take care of all of our responsibilities like our homework.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VANGUARD?

I love how much freedom we have at Vanguard and how many opportunities there are for us.

DO YOU BELIEVE VANGUARD IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS IN WACO?

I believe Vanguard is different from other schools in Waco because the academics are more challenging than the other schools.

VANGUARD’S MOTTO IS “RIGOR, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY.” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?

To me, our motto is what Vanguard teaches us as students. At the end of our time at Vanguard, we are expected to show rigor, respect, and responsibility.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VANGUARD?

I love Vanguard because of the size of the school. Vanguard is a small school letting teachers be able to offer students help one on one rather than as a group. Because of the size students  are able to meet everyone and can build lasting friendships from all ages. Vanguard is very accommodating to the students, Vanguard helps one learn their passions and grow into them.

DO YOU BELIEVE VANGUARD IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS IN WACO?

Yes I do, Vanguard has very different goals than other schools, they believe you should not only learn what it takes to get into college but how to grow as a respectful and responsible person. Vanguards faculty and staff are like no other, they love working at Vanguard and it shows by the way they treat their students and how they want to help them.

VANGUARD’S MOTTO IS “RIGOR, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY.” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?

Vanguard uses the three words rigor, respect, and responsibility, in order to show the core values of vanguard. Vanguard is a very hard school with a large work load to teach students how to persevere and overcome homework we may not enjoy. Vanguard does not only want to teach students how to learn and overcome but how to be respectful to peers and speakers/teachers/staff. Vanguard makes you responsible for yourself you have to learn to be disciplined and take credit for your own actions. Vanguard teaches students how to be disciplined with school work with scheduling and organization skills, Vanguard also teach students to be disciplined in your actions with a discipline committee who want to help students learn rather than punish.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VANGUARD?

I like that my classes are hard and challenging, but my teachers are encouraging and supportive of our work. I like that we get to be outside during our break, lunch, and passing periods. I love the amount of freedom that we are given to have fun and play around, while still being responsible and respectful. We have the opportunity to learn and grow so much at Vanguard, and I am still challenged while having fun and being supported by my teachers. I like the sports and the fact that we are able to do them without having to worry about getting into a team. We learn sportsmanship and form great relationships while still working hard and having fun.

DO YOU BELIEVE VANGUARD IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS IN WACO?

Yes, Vanguard is different from other schools because of our amazing education, sports, and teachers that we have here. The freedom and possibilities that are available to us are amazing, and every class that we take will help us in our future, while preparing for college and work ethic.

VANGUARD’S MOTTO IS “RIGOR, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY.” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?

I think that Vanguard’s motto is important, because we learn and apply all of the characteristics at our school and in real life. Rigor for difficulty, making us have endurance and the grit to be able to do hard things. Respect for others is important, and through our classes we learn how to be respectful to our teachers and classmates. Responsibility, to stick up for your own actions, and we learn how to do this at Vanguard. This motto is really good to think about because it makes me think about how I can apply all these things at school and out of school.
