Vanguard Applications for the 2027-2028 Year Open September 15, 2026

Required Application Materials

  • ✓ Completed online application
  • ✓ Immunization records
  • ✓ Transcript from previous school
    • Middle school: Grade reports from past two semesters
    • High school: Official transcript
  • ✓ 504 documentation (if applicable)
  • ✓ Student writing sample
    • Handwritten, one paragraph each (Select two prompts within the app)
  • ✓ Two teacher recommendation forms
    • Submitted directly through the portal (Email/Contact info required)
  • ✓ $100 application fee (processed online)

Testing & Interview

Vanguard Entrance Testing:
Otis Lennon School Ability Test and Math Assessment. Group testing dates will be available throughout the admissions cycle

Junior & Senior Applicants

Applicants entering 11th or 12th grade require an additional interview with the Admissions Committee.

Admissions decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.

Your admissions file will be opened once your completed application and fee have been received.

Enrollment Capacity

Vanguard maintains intentionally small class sizes to support personalized learning and a strong student community.

  • • 6th Grade is limited to 24 students
  • • All other grades are subject to enrollment caps
  • • Once a grade reaches capacity, applicants may be placed in a waiting pool

Tuition & Financial Information

2026–2027 Tuition

6th Grade: $12,600

7th–12th Grade: $18,270

Tuition is set annually by the Board each December.

Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance is available for students entering 7th through 12th grade.

  • Applications for tuition assistance must be submitted at the same time as the admission application.
  • Assistance is reviewed separately from the admissions decision.
  • Applying for tuition assistance does not impact admission consideration.

Vanguard also accepts TEFA and applicable voucher programs.

Shadow Day Experience

Experience campus life firsthand and join the Vanguard community for a day.

Vanguard highly encourages prospective students to participate in a Shadow Day to experience campus life firsthand. These days are held from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM and provide students with the opportunity to fully engage in a typical school day.

What to Expect

  • ✓ Student Ambassadors: You will be paired with a Vanguard Ambassador and attend classes throughout the day.
  • ✓ Location: Drop-off and pick-up take place at the Jaworski Building - 8am to 3:30pm
  • ✓ Lunch: Students should bring a lunch for the day.
