Student Life
Learning, growth, and development at Vanguard extend beyond the classroom. Our balanced, holistic program offers diverse opportunities that reflect the unique talents and passions of our community.
We believe the school-age years should be both enriching and fulfilling. Students are encouraged to take risks, explore their interests, and pursue their passions, fostering curiosity, creativity, and personal growth.
Arts, Enrichment & Student Life
At Vanguard, education extends beyond the classroom. Through the arts, technology, clubs, and enrichment opportunities, students are encouraged to explore their interests, develop confidence, and discover their unique strengths within a dynamic and supportive community.
Visual Arts
Our Visual Arts program is project-based and centered on independent exploration. Through critique, collaboration, and hands-on experience, students develop both technical skill and creative voice while building strong portfolios. Students also compete in Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools and Visual Arts Scholastic Event competitions.
Music
Students explore music through orchestra, drumline, and performance opportunities. Instruction includes music theory, technique, and expression, with opportunities to perform throughout the year. Private lessons are also available on campus.
Theatre
Vanguard’s theatre program offers opportunities both on stage and behind the scenes. Students develop confidence, communication skills, and creativity through performance, production, and technical theatre experiences.
Technology & Innovation
Technology at Vanguard enhances learning through hands-on, real-world application. Students engage with tools such as 3D printing, coding, robotics, video production, and multimedia design, building skills that prepare them for an ever-evolving future.
Clubs, Leadership & Competition
Students are encouraged to lead, collaborate, and compete through a wide range of clubs and organizations. Opportunities include honor societies, academic competitions, language clubs, student leadership, service organizations, and more, all designed to foster growth beyond the classroom.
Summer Camps
Vanguard’s summer programs offer students ages 3–13 engaging opportunities to explore creativity, academics, and new interests in a fun and supportive environment. Camps are open to the community and led by Vanguard teachers and staff.
