Summer Camps at Vanguard

Vanguard Summer Camps offer a wide range of arts and academic experiences designed to engage, challenge, and inspire. Each program, led by Vanguard teachers and counselors, is thoughtfully structured to make learning both meaningful and fun. 
Careful attention is given to scheduling and program design to ensure an enjoyable and well-balanced experience for every participant. Students from all schools are welcome, with camp opportunities available for children ages 5 to 13.
At Vanguard, we take both fun and learning seriously.
Camp Information - Vanguard Summer Camps are designed to provide a structured, engaging, and enriching experience for every student.
Session Times -  Morning Camps:  9:00 AM to 12:00 PM  -   Afternoon Camps: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Cost - $125 per child, per camp session

Morning Camps

June 1–4

Squishy Sculptures: Hand-Made Stuffies (Ages 6–13)

A creative, hands-on sewing camp where students learn foundational stitching techniques while designing and constructing their own soft creations. Campers will also explore embroidery, micro-weaving, and basic clothing repair skills.

Young Science Camp (Ages 5–8)

Students will explore the natural world through hands-on experiments and observation. Activities include extracting DNA from strawberries, building ecosystems, and studying insect behavior.

Basketball Camp (Ages 5–8)

Led by Coach Braden Black, this camp introduces basketball fundamentals, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and teamwork, in a fun and encouraging environment.

Coding Through Gaming (Ages 7–13)

Campers learn programming concepts by creating and modifying their own games. Perfect for beginners and intermediate learners, this camp builds problem-solving skills through interactive platforms.

June 8–11

Cheer Camp (Ages 5–10)

A high-energy camp focused on cheers, chants, jumps, dance, and basic stunts. Campers build confidence, teamwork, and school spirit in a fun environment.

Basketball Camp (Ages 8–12)

Skill development for all levels with a focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and game play. Led by Coach Braden Black.

June 15–18

Creative Thinkers Camp (Ages 9–12)

Instructor: Mrs. Katherine Weaver | Location: Mayborn Room 2304

Students engage in logic games, pattern recognition, and hands-on challenges to strengthen reasoning and creativity. Limited to 20 campers.

Basketball Camp (Ages 5–9)

Fundamentals-focused camp emphasizing skill-building, teamwork, and confidence.

Coding Through Gaming (Ages 7–13)

Build, design, and explore game development while learning foundational coding skills.

Afternoon Camps

June 1–4

Big Kid Science Camp (Ages 9–11)

Students conduct experiments, design tests, and think like scientists. Activities include DNA extraction and building solar ray projects.

June 15–18

Electronics Camp (Ages 8–12)

Note: Limited to 10 campers

Students learn the fundamentals of electronics, build Arduino-based projects, and practice soldering techniques in a hands-on environment.
