Great Scores on the College Board AP Tests!

AP Classes give students a glimpse at college-level classes and allows them to earn college credit. Great job to our students who tested in May. The preparation the Vanguard Faculty provides gives our students the tools to be successful at the next level and beyond.

Vanguard again was in the top 6% of eligible schools worldwide that take AP exams that received Platinum (the top level) level AP School Honor Roll recognition. All Vanguard students enrolled in an AP class are required to take the AP test.

• World History: Modern – Standout Success
  • Vanguard students averaged a 4.35, compared to 2.78 in Texas and 3.16 globally

 

• English Literature Excellence
  • With an average score of 4.18, Vanguard crushed both the Texas (2.88) and global (3.24) averages, with 100% of students passing.

 

• Precalculus Sets the Pace
  • All 21 students passed, with 43% scoring 5s and an average of 4.14, far ahead of Texas (3.35) and global (3.55) norms.

 

• U.S. History: Most Popular & Highly Successful
  • With 32 students, it was the most-tested subject at Vanguard. The average score was 4.00, with a 93.8% pass rate compared to 61.1% in Texas.

 

• Biology Scores Outpace the State by Nearly a Full Point
  • Vanguard’s average was 3.83 vs Texas's 2.88, with 83.3% pass rate versus Texas’s 58.9%.

 

• European History Outshines Global Performance
  • Vanguard averaged 3.81, with 88.5% of students scoring 3+, outperforming Texas (3.15) and global (3.27) scores.

 

• Spanish Language: 100% Pass Rate
  • Though only 2 students took it, both passed, reflecting solid instruction and preparation.

 

• Strong Performance in U.S. Government and Politics
  • Vanguard students scored an average of 3.21, well above Texas (2.88) and nearly matching the global average (3.34), with a 71.4% pass rate.

 

• Jon Esparza has been named an AP Scholar with Distinction, having completed 11 AP Exams with an impressive average score of 4.18!

Vanguard is a GOLD member of the Honor Roll! Vanguard had 65% of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school, 97% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 44% of seniors who took five or more AP Exams!
