National Merit 2025 Students

ANGUARD STUDENTS RECOGNIZED FOR 

OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

Three seniors at Vanguard College Preparatory School (VCPS) have been named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. In addition, twelve VCPS juniors and seniors have received College Board School Recognition Awards.

National Merit Commended Students at Vanguard are Aria Cleveland, Owen Roos, and Henry Swanson. Commended Students are recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the PSAT. 

In addition to VCPS’s three Commended Students, twelve Vanguard juniors and seniors have been honored by the College Board National Recognition Program for academic excellence within their high school community. These students are (left to right) Emily VanCleave, Ellen Weaver, Maggie Haskett, Cynthia Weaver, Amelia Chen, Daniel Huang, Luke Davis, Vincent Huang, Evie Hansen, Atlas Sowders, and Blake Balusek (August Retzloff not pictured). 

Over the last 10 years, Vanguard has had 42 students gain National Merit recognition
